Free Historic Sundays Admission for Scottish Residents 2026–27

Plan a free visit to a participating Historic Environment Scotland attraction through Historic Sundays. The 2026–27 programme is open to Scottish postcode holders, with advance online booking required.

October tickets are available for Sunday 4 October 2026. Availability differs by site: Aberdour Castle showed places when checked, while Edinburgh Castle had no available events. Choose a site on the provider’s page, select its Historic Sundays ticket option and an available date and time, then complete the booking details. Tickets are sent by email; follow the delivery instructions for your chosen site.

The programme runs on selected Sundays until 7 March 2027, with new allocations released monthly. January uses a different Sunday; confirm the date in the live booking calendar. Take your tickets and valid proof of your Scottish address. Free entry does not include travel or purchases in shops and cafés.

Open to Scottish postcode holders only; valid proof of address is required. Advance online booking is compulsory and free allocations vary by site and date. Up to 2 adults and 6 children may be booked per transaction. Children aged 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult aged 16 or over, subject to the provider’s supervision rules.

Tickets apply only to the selected site, date and time. Late entry is not guaranteed. Tickets cannot be transferred, resold or exchanged for another date or cash, and cannot be combined with another offer. Closures may affect visits.

The programme runs from 4 October 2026 to 7 March 2027. Tickets must be booked before the visit while the relevant allocation remains available. No separate final booking deadline is stated. Check the provider’s live calendar for each monthly release and the January exception.
